Things I enjoy in teaching/as a teacher:

warm, fun learning atmosphere in class

reading students’ journal entries (WITHOUT the need for detailed marking)

using poems, songs and films in class for different integrated tasks

supportive relationship among colleagues

love and care from colleagues and students

reading(/writing) letters from (/to) students

playing ping-pong with students

seeing the eyes of students sparkling when I teach

seeing students’ minds being enlightened

creating interesting, interactive, challenging tasks

going hiking with colleagues and students…
Things I hate in teaching:
-
students copying my marking codes when doing corrections

students making mistakes in the supposed-to-be-correct sentences when doing corrections
-
extremely high frequency of killing-you-slowly-detailed marking
-
pseudo-constructive comments from pseudo-ELT-experts (like those you have in minds now:P)
-
bringing endless, heavy composition exercise books home for marking
-
dealing with “politics”…
